Bye bye travel knit

Well it's a new me, more or less. I just gave most all of my Chico's travel knit collection to a patient who promises to sell them on E-Bay and split the proceeds with me. I know that many of you will want to check out this wonderful opportunity to get yesterday's middle-aged look while they're still available.

That said, I held back my favorite outfit--a pair of flowered red and green on black pants (that a 9th grade boy in our carpool six years ago told me were cool) with a red top and black jacket. All travel knit. All hot as hell on that warm February day last week, and all of which were heavy and static-filled. I thought I looked pretty righteous until I got out in the sunlight and noted 1) The black of the seldom worn jacket and the black of the oft-worn slacks were entirely different, 2) the pants were too short which, 3) showed off the horror of my mother's leftover black (different black yet again) socks.

Yes, even my mother had she been around to see this outfit, would have opined "Jude, those pants...those socks...look awful."

Stay tuned to E-Bay; the silly clown pants should debut soon.

Hey, if yours sell, I have my own collection of them hanging in the back of the closet. Maybe your patient could sell mine, too?

Well at least that boy in grade 9 said it looked "cool!". I once wore a skirt in grade 6 that some boy (and it had to be a boy I liked) said it looked like puke. I never wore that skirt again!

Hope your knits sell on ebay. I like Chico's. Haven't been to that store in years. Will certainly bypass the travel knits when I do go. LOL!

I hope you're not planning on retiring on the proceeds!

That is so funny,I gave away some Chico travel knits recently and still have a few more in the back of the closet. I keep thinking, how bad can a black skirt be, but I always take it off.
No wonder the Chico stock is doing poorly. It was new 10 years ago but I don't think they have come out with new styles since then.
The second hand stores have a Chico section.

So my mind is not working - I read "travel kits" so was royally confused. If a young lad told me I looked cool, pure delight!

I love the comment, "how bad can a black skirt be?" We all know the answer. Even now, when I see Chico travel clothes on a model I feel a little hope, then the reality comes crashing in. I do not look like the models and I have donated more Chico to Salvation Army than I care to admit. Didn't know there are Chico sections in second hand stores. Res Ipsa Loquitur.

To all: No proceeds yet from sales; Chico's is moving as fast these days as real estate. But I've resolved to cut most of the remaining Chico's loose, it's liberating to move on.

I realized today as I walked into the library that I was completely clad in thrift store garments--fortunately did not run into any patients there...
